KNEE DISLOCATION
Kneecap dislocation occurs when the round-shaped bone covering the knee (patella) moves or slides out of place. The dislocation often occurs toward the outside of the leg.
CAUSES
- Road traffic injuries
- Sport injuries
- Falls
SYMPTOMS
- Severe Pain
- Swelling
- Deformity
- Inability to move the joint
- Inability to weight bear
- Numbness & tingling (when associated with nerve injury)
DIAGNOSIS
- X-ray
- MRI
- Doppler scan/ CT Angiogram (to rule out vascular injury)
- EMG/NCV (to rule out nerve injury)
